Handphone headaches…
Thursday, January 12th, 2006Its all terang lagi bersuluh that Ministry of Education is stupid. This is what happens when bloody politics gets in way with the education. Nh mesti kerja bapak (orang besar) sape2 yg sesuka hati saje blackmail education ministry for his children benefits.Out of the blue, suddenly pekeliling came out on the 23 rd of December that students can bring handphones to school provided if follow certain guidelines.
i’ve read all those guidelines n if truth to be said , its total rubbish. Yes, it does benefit teachers but its deteriorating the students. And teachers will have this extra burden to rampas all handphones that doesnt adhere to guidelines. Tambah lagi satu peraturan sekolah.tambah lagi kerja cekgu2
As an ex-prefect,( ececececeh..)handphones is one powerful weapon in diverting students attention from aCademic and become the main CULPRIT of school discipline cases. Let me expess my views in point forms..
1. ENCOURAGING THE STEALING CULTURE. The main headache is, teenagers handphone nowadays is no more yg cikai2 mcm Nokia 3310( model i’m currently using), if there’s no camera, no polyphonic, 3g n all that..jgn haraplah..so expect something that costs nearly thousands of ringgit..okay , Klause 2 clearly states " The school will never be held accountable fo any loss of students handphone" yeah right, try telling that to the parents, c if they understand.. One parent almost threatened to sue the school when his daughter handphone is missing in my school last year(balasan kot…)
2. PSYCHOLOGICAL EFFECT. Everybody has a handphone. Imagine the mounting pressure on students who cannot afford one, can he handle the pressure? its very important for adolescents not to be inferior and consequently it will lead to stealing… tension…depression…. not everyone is like me u know, takde perasaan, takde handphone rilek je.. . .they will also force parents to buy them one. u call this is good for students?
3.DIVERSION FROM STUDIES.Believe me, handphone is addictive, especially the SMS part( this is a problem on its own . i’ll get to that one later). Once u start smsing…sampai kol 3 pagi pon boleh tahan… see? ur mind suddelny messed up with thoughts like " bile nk balas nh??" in the middle of ur homework.coming fom my personal experience, i’ve seen friends who doesnt stop smsing when tomorows actually an exam day.. cakap good luck kot..but then again , the wasted 20 minutes can be transfomed into quality time with Chemistry Text Books Bab Jadual Berkala Unsur right?
4.CHEATING MEDIUM.It happened in my school last year,a respective ,all a’s boarding school..what more ordinary schools.it could happen again right? especially in school based exams where invigalators bukan nyer jaga seriously..
5. OPPOSITE SEX PROBLEM. Calling all parents.. u must like ur children wasting their time borak2 with the opposite sex kan?if that particular students is already 16 ke 17, its still tolerable but imagine F1 and F2 students practising the act? Masih jagung muda lagi dh diajar..
Unsurprisingly, sex and khalwat cases had rocketed this days..
6. SAFETY HAZARDS. armed with a handphone, pickpockets now have a reason to stop students in the middle of the road demanding handphones. See? handphones are increasing the student exposure towards danger. Now we have to hire bodyguards to school to avoid students from getting hurt or worse…killed.
7.EXPENSIVE. Hooray, thanks to government harsh judgement, kids now find a new revolutionary way in wasting their money. SMS and calls can be highly expensive if used extensively( which is the case for every student?) say, for two weeks , RM 10 for prepaid is burned if the usage is strictly sms, no calls ..nh blom lagi downloads, ringtones and calls. so the least, u spend RM 10×3 per month….hmm…there u go parents, u asked for it, u gooot it!
And these, are only in the perspective of the student, blom lagi teachers and parents. In a nutshell, if weighing down the pro and cons, the cons wil definitely emerge the winner. So, stop this nonsense, in the UK its been already a national problem. If want to execute pon , they must have a trial-time.
whatever it is, i dont get it, although trying to follow the MSC Vision, common sense must take place first. Will someone tell me the basis of the government decision?( i think the whole" terlalu ramai student memiliki handphone" is crap)
